Tony dear. Up until that point, it wasn’t a name he had thought much of. A petname Bianca had labeled him with that he dealt with under the pretense that she was the only one allowed to use it. Only, there was something more to it now. A petname, sure, but it wasn’t Bianca saying it, it was the demon, Baal, below, that had come up with it. Even in the midst of a serious conversation, it leaked its way out to catch him, holding his attention better than anything else. “So, to understand this right, you basically have all the knowledge of the world, anything you could want, at the tips of your fingers? You have become that much more attractive than you did before.” The flirting was part of who he was, but that hungry curiosity had started to stir. If he had been given just five minutes to ask whatever he wanted, to take a peek at what Baal had, what could he learn?
There were compliments there amidst the insults, he knew that much. And the ego showed through again while he smirked, catching each and every one of them. It still made him think, though, and not in the self-serving ‘how great am I?’ way, but really consider what she was saying. He caught her attention, and yes he was smart and he knew how handsome he was, but what attracted her to him? Or, the even better question, what attracted him to her? Despite the fact they weren’t even talking about it, it was there, unspoken between them. It wasn’t a one-sided relationship they had building. “Well, Benji is a very attractive male and while Bianca and I have something going, I am more than welcomed to appreciate. Especially since I was so sure we didn’t have a binding contract to each other, considering our… endeavors.” He hummed. “But, I think the one solution I have to this, is that the two of us must stay together, at least long enough to figure this whole mess out. I’d hate to be a headache to your conscious and be the reason you lose beauty sleep.” He teased.
Four people, so he had four faces to look out for, or at least be aware of. “Maybe I just want to keep track of where you are. I like surprises as well as anyone else, but there are just some things to be aware of, you know. Your lover and his ability to change his face at will.” He shrugged before frowning, eyebrow raised at the hunters she spoke about. “…well, they sound like a horrific pain. Luckily for you I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about… and yet, I have an uncomfortable feeling that all too soon I’m going to find out far more than I bargained for.”
For a moment, Baal said nothing, letting the smoke gather in Bianca’s lungs, and flow back out, tapping out the cigarette with a smile. ”Yes.” It was true, the history of the world sat in Baal’s library, and the demon was proud of it. Proud of the things she had created. Stones upon scrolls upon books, the information filling a plane of existence of it’s very own. A gift of the demon’s father, after all, if their was a library of Heaven, which dealt with the present, with the holy, the education of angels of how the Earth worked- society in general- Hell was in the details. Into each person’s life, into everything. The phrase the devil’s in the details came from somewhere- and that somewhere was Baal.
"Glad to know you only like me for my books, handsome." Bianca’s personality was clearly kicking in again, her look still devilish though. Tapping into that demon underneath and blending between the two. The smile whispered of danger, of sex and truth you couldn’t handle, as well as lies as old as the sun. "Takes a lot to get inbetween any of my pages though. I may be required to tell you what your power is and what you are capable of, but that doesn’t mean I have to tell you anything else."
There was almost a comfort developing around him again, with the ease he fell into this- at least for now. She was sure he’d have more trouble with it when he was away from the situation and able to gather his wits. When the demon that could kill him without a thought- or at least acted like Baal could- honestly, Baal would only truly kill him if he went to hell, then the demon could pull him back without a challenge, and that would put a damper on their budding whatever it was.
"They can’t help but be attractive," Baal admitted, grinning. "Part of why I chose them. Their father made a deal that his company would be successful, he’d be able to support his family, and they’d have easy lives. What easier way than to be attractive, hm?" She pushed hair from her face, giving a laugh. "And thus, Benji and Bianca ended up this way- but no, we don’t have a contract. In fact, I often got in trouble with my goddesses when I played around with others." She leaned back again, eyebrows raising at the suggestion. Staying together was not how she expected this to end. "I don’t think I’d lose beauty sleep over you." She teased back, leaning forward before grinning. "I don’t sleep unless I feel like it."
Lover. The world halted on that word, and Baal stared at the other, clearly caught off guard for the second time in this conversation. Lover. He had called him a lover, and Baal wasn’t sure he had agreed to this. Had he agreed to this? No, he hadn’t- he’d called him Tony dear, hadn’t he. But that was just a pet name, and love? It wasn’t love. It couldn’t be love. A demon wasn’t supposed to love. Nevermind the feelings Baal still harbored for Ashtart (who had long moved on) and Lucifer (who had never become anything of note).
"Hunters are men and women who hunt creatures who aren’t human," She was speaking, almost blankly, while her mind turned the phrase over and over in her head. Lover. To love another. To care for them, to want them to do well- to generally not want them to die, she supposed. "They either kill them or keep an eye out on them, just to make sure they don’t kill humanity. They serve almost as the protectors, though some lose the ability to tell black and white and will kill anything that isn’t human, whether they’re doing harm or not-"
